Abu Dhabi Awards receive 9,000 nominations
The Abu Dhabi Awards have received 9,000 nominations from across the emirate in the first 18 days of the four-week nomination campaign.

Abu Dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Awards have received 9,000 nominations from across the emirate in the first 18 days of the four-week nomination campaign.
"We have received a positive response. It is encouraging to see that many people in Abu Dhabi have embraced the awards once again this year. However, we still need more nominations and we will reach out to the wider community.
"Everyone's participation is vital to help us uncover deserving, unsung heroes in our community," said Maryam Amiri from the Abu Dhabi Awards Organising Committee.
Prominent psychologist, Dr. Raymond Hamden told Gulf News that the awards are a positive initiative since it shows how society recognises good deeds.
"The awards encourage people to think, feel and behave positively. It is great to see the response of the Abu Dhabi community towards the awards."
Residents of Abu Dhabi can lodge nominations online, via post or by visiting any of the 23 manned or 88 unmanned booths throughout the emirate.
The nomination period will close on October 5.
