Abu Dhabi: Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister and Chairman of National Media Council, has praised the efforts being exerted by Shaikha Budoor Bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairwoman of the Emirates Publishers Association, to serve the publishing industry in the UAE.

He added that the setting up of the association by Shaikha Budoor has contributed to the development of the publishing industry in the UAE, and representation of Emirati publishers at local, Arab and international fairs.

Shaikh Abdullah said the association has taken huge steps to introduce the UAE publishing industry to the world.

The remarks were made yesterday (Monday) when Shaikh Abdullah received Shaikha Budoor in his office in the presence of the association’s Board of Directors.

Shaikha Budoor briefed Shaikh Abdullah about the association and its role in development of the publishing industry. She noted that the main objectives of the association were to improve the work environment for publishers through enhancement of their production capacity and publishing of their works.

The association works on improving the profession in the state through rehabilitation and training of Emirati publishers.
