Sydney: Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, on Friday met Emirati students enrolled at universities and higher colleges in Melbourne and Sydney during his official visit to Australia.

Shaikh Abdullah conveyed the greetings of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, noting that the UAE leadership give priority to higher education.

The leadership, Shaikh Abdullah said, spares no effort or funds to help citizens achieve the international academic excellence so they can participate in sustainable development with high efficiency, excellence and ability.

Shakh Abdullah reassured the students of the UAE’s keenness to follow up on their education and the leadership’s commitment to provide them the resources they need.

“Emirati students and scholars studying abroad act as ambassadors, armed with science and knowledge to contribute their expertise to the UAE’s development and progress,” he said.

Shaikh Abdullah was briefed on the areas of study and students’ academic and living conditions in Australia.

Applauding the students’ spirit and perseverance, Shaikh Abdullah urged them to be patient, diligent and study hard.

The students pledged that they would live up to the UAE leadership’s expectations in their academic life and obtain the highest degrees so as to contribute to the progress of the nation.
