New York: Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Foreign Minister, met a number of his counterparts on the sidelines of the 69th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York on Saturday.

Shaikh Abdullah met separately Jose Antonio Meade Kuribrena, Mexican Secretary of Foreign Affairs; Ioannis Kasoulides, Cypriot Minister of Foreign Affairs; Gebran Bassil, Lebanon’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants; Bernard Kamillius Membe, Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Republic of Tanzania; and Eladio Loizaga Caballero, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Paraguay.

They discussed bilateral relations and ways to enhance cooperation in the economic, trade and cultural domains between the UAE and respective countries.

Shaikh Abdullah also discussed with them the UAE’s balanced policy in respect to major regional and international issues of mutual interest. Shaikh Abdullah also exchanged views with the foreign ministers on the General Assembly’s topics, among others, the latest developments in Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Libya, and international counter-terrorism efforts.

The meetings were attended by Major General Fares Al Mazroui, Assistant Foreign Minister for Security and Military Affairs.
