28 people arrested for illegal trash collection in Sharjah
Inspections carried out by the Naturalisation and Residency Department of Sharjah during the month of Ramadan has led to the arrest of 28 people for illegal trash collection, the Ministry of Interior said in a statement on Tuesday.
Abu Dhabi: Inspections carried out by the Naturalisation and Residency Department of Sharjah during the month of Ramadan has led to the arrest of 28 people for illegal trash collection, the Ministry of Interior said in a statement on Tuesday.
According to the ministry, 18 people were caught collecting cardboards while 10 people were caught collection cans out of garbage bins.
Legal action will be initiated against those arrested, officials said.
Colonel Dr Abdullah Ali Bin Sahoa, the Director of Sharjah Naturalisation and Residence department said illegal trash collection has become an attractive job for illegal residents and infiltrators.
He said the department will continue to collect information on companies and institutions that encourage such persons by buying the collected trash from these people and will take strict measures to curb such activities.
