Dubai: Parking will be free at all paid parking zones in Dubai on Thursday, except in Deira Fish Market and multi-storey car parks, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced.

The move was announced to mark the public holiday of Islamic New Year on Thursday.

While RTA’s customer care and vehicle testing centres will remain closed on Thursday, Dubai Metro buses will operate without any changes in timings, with trains running from 5.30am until 1am.

The Al Ghubaiba bus station will operate for 24 hours as usual, while Union, Sabkha, Deira City Centre and Karama stations will operate from 6am to 12 midnight.

Buses between Al Ghubaiba and Al Jubai in Sharjah will run round-the-clock while buses to Abu Dhabi, Fujairah, Ajman and Hatta will run between 6am and midnight.

Marine transport will also operate unchanged, with the water bus running from 7am to 10am, water taxi from 10am to 10pm and Ferry Dubai from 9am to 7pm.

Emirates Driving Institute, Dubai International Driving Centre and Drive Dubai will be closed on Thursday while the Dubai Driving Centre and Galadari Centre will remain open.

Belhasa Centre (Nad Al Hamar, Al Wasl) will run the registration service only and Al Ahli Centre will run the training service only.
