Dubai: Two people died and nine were injured in four separate accidents across Dubai that took place on Monday and Tuesday.

Colonel Saif Muhair Al Mazroui, Director of Dubai Traffic Police, said that the first accident took place on Monday at around 1pm near Al Maktoum Airport.

A light vehicle crashed into a truck, which led to the injury of the driver of the light vehicle and his passenger. They sustained moderate to serious injuries and were transferred to hospital for treatment.

A motorbike driver died in the second accident, in which a 4 wheel drive vehicle and a motorbike crashed on Al Rabat Road, Col Al Mazroui said. The accident took place on Tuesday afternoon.

On the same day, a bus and truck crashed on Mohammad Bin Zayed Road in the Sharjah direction near Sports City.

The bus driver’s severe injuries proved to be fatal. Both vehicles sustained major damages.

On Shaikh Zayed Road, seven people sustained minor to moderate injuries in a multi-vehicle crash opposite Marina Mall the same day.

Col Al Mazroui said that a female driver ran out of petrol while driving in the third lane, which forced a bus to stop behind her to avoid crashing into her.

The driver of the light vehicle behind the bus did not anticipate the stop and crashed into the bus. The intensity of the crash pushed the bus into the first vehicle and then it flipped.

The first vehicle veered to the left and out of its lane and hit another vehicle.
