Dubai: Temperature shot up to 38 degree Celsius in Dubai, even hotter in the interior areas, on Wednesday due to the new weather system developing in the eastern Saudi Arabia, said the weathermen.
The unstable weather is expected to hit the emirates on Thursday, causing dusty and windy conditions with the possibility of scattered rain and thunderstorms, particularly in the northern emirates. "This is not the all time high temperature in Dubai as it had gone up to 43 a few years ago," said a senior forecaster at Dubai Met Department.
He said the conditions, with high temperature and high humidity level, are ideal for the formation of clouds for thunderstorms. "We are expecting thunder activity in the next three days, starting from Thursday," he added.
Yesterday the maximum high temperature was 38 to 39 degree in different cities of the emirates.
