Abu Dhabi: The UAE continues to lead initiatives that steer the country towards green building practices through various guidelines and regulations, according to organisers of the Green Building Middle East Summit and Expo that will be held during Arabian Construction Week in Abu Dhabi from May 24.

Green initiatives such as Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar) City in Abu Dhabi, the Energy and Environment Park (ENPARK) in Dubai and the Qatar Sustainability Assessment System will be highlighted during the two-day conference and expo to be held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.

Pledging to abide by the highest green building standards and pioneer the concept in the region, Abu Dhabi and Dubai have laid the foundation for the UAE through enforcing norms and internationally certified practices, as well as taking the initiative to collaborate with specialised governing bodies to achieve shared goals in construction.
