Dust spell gives way to hot and humid days in the UAE
Bright sunshine after a dusty spell has pushed the mercury above 45 degree Celsius in parts of the emirates on Sunday.

Al Ain: Bright sunshine after a dusty spell has pushed the mercury above 45 degree Celsius in parts of the emirates on Sunday.
Over the last several days, winds had been bringing in dust from the upper Gulf region, Iraq and eastern Saudi Arabia, affecting Qatar, Bahrain, and the UAE. "This spell has ended due to the change in the wind direction," said a weatherman.
The wind will now be blowing from the south-western direction at a speed of five to 10 knots in the day, changing to western to north-western direction in the night. It may gain a speed of 14 knots in the afternoon and the night, according to the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS).
"Hot weather will continue in general, becoming hazy at times, with some low clouds over mountainous areas by afternoon," said the NCMS forecast for the next 48 hours.
Al Ain was the hottest city in the country with temperature going beyond 45 degree Celsius, followed by Ras Al Khaimah with 43 degree Celsius, and Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Ajman experiencing 42 degree Celsius.
The maximum high temperature in Dubai and Umm Al Quwain was 41 degree Celsius. Fujairah experienced 38 degree Celsius, but the level of humidity was very high there: 80 per cent, maximum.
