Fujairah A dead whale was found floating off the Fujairah coast.

The whale, which is about ten metres long, was spotted by a group of local fishermen, Gulf News has learnt.

The whale was found on Thursday but its condition suggests that it may have been dead for several days or more than a week, said one of the fishermen who requested anonymity.

"It is extremely exciting to spot a whale in the sea, but very disappointing to see that it has died," said the fisherman.

Many people gathered to look at the dead whale after it was taken to shore by the fishermen. "Many took pictures of the whale," the fisherman said.

It is the first dead whale spotted after an oil spill off the Fujairah coast in March, the fisherman added.

The fishermen reported the incident to the authorities concerned who are expected to dispose of the carcass properly.
