Dubai: University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD) has launched an E-Games Zone, designed for PC gaming and tournaments to boost its range of recreation services located in Block 5 of Knowledge Village, Dubai.

The E-Games Zone which was created and founded by students has its own dedicated network of computers and a server.

“The E-Games Zone at UOWD is the creation of the E-Sports Club, a student initiative founded by current students Ali Zafar and Anand Menon to spread competitive video gaming among the students and staff at the University,” says Franky Barreto, Manager, Student Services, UOWD.

The Student Services Department (SSD) at UOWD provided support to the project after an increase in the number of students involved in the club’s competitive summer gaming tournaments every year.
