Abu Dhabi: Students in the Private and public education sector in the United Arab Emirates go back to school this Sunday to start the first day of the second semester of the academic year 2012 – 2013.
Students totalling 727,918 will go back to 1,276 private and public schools out of which 269,412 will return to 785 public schools while 458,508 students will return to 491 private schools.
The Ministry of education (MoE) stated that it was able to achieve most of the planned initiatives and projects aimed at raising the level of education in the UAE in order to encourage both students and teachers to be innovative educationally and creatively in the new academic semester.
In preparation of the second academic semester, the Dubai education district has prepared a timetable for the distribution of the second part of books to ensure that the books will be in the student hands at the beginning of the second semester. The book distribution plan included the public education sector, adult education and religion institutes.
The district has announced that it has completed the preparations needed to receive students in public schools to begin in the second semester that is under its supervision in order to ensure a smooth start of the academic semester.
Dr Ahmad Eid Al Mansouri, Director of the Education District, thanked the Ministry of Public Work’s Maintenance Department for contributing in the preparations by performing various maintenance tasks on schools which helped pave the return of students to schools in time for the new academic semester.
Al Mansouri also stated that the Dubai Educational Zone is keen to ensure that the new semester will start smoothly providing students and teachers the right academic atmosphere for a successful educational semester.
