Dubai: Three hundred thinkers and experts will gather in Dubai today and tomorrow during a Knowledge Conference held by the Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation to draw a roadmap for knowledge development in the Arab world.
Under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, two days of in-depth discussions will tackle a wide range of strategic topics including education reform, publishing, translation and scientific research in the region.
The Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation was announced at the World Economic Forum earlier this year in Jordan by Shaikh Mohammad who said his personal initiative was aimed at creating "a knowledge-based society" in the Middle East.
Shaikh Mohammad made a donation of $10 billion to set up the educational foundation.
