Dubai: The International Student Network (ISN) is bringing more than 20 American universities to the UAE this week. Students looking to explore their higher education options in the United States can attend the American Education Expo being held in Abu Dhabi tomorrow and in Dubai on February 24.

The institutions taking part are hoping to diversify their campuses and towards this end are offering a number of merit-based scholarships, totalling $1 million (Dh3.67 million). The expo is being supported by the US Embassy and the US Department of Commerce.

"Last year, we had over 1,000 students attend and this year's event will be even bigger," said Melissa Serrano, ISN programme coordinator.

"Parents are encouraged to come with the student for support and to help guide them through this important step in their life."

Students can bring copies of their transcripts and TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) scores to determine scholarship eligibility.

Entry to the event is free. To pre-register, please visit www.studentlane.com
