Abu Dhabi: A number of schoolteachers, nurses and social workers attended a recent workshop on drug abuse awareness in the capital, the Abu Dhabi Education Council (Adec) announced in a statement on Monday.

The four-day workshop was organised by Adec, in collaboration with the National Rehabilitation Centre and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, and discussed how to detect drug abuse and protect the youth from it. It also focused on reaching out to educators who teach children between the ages of 12-14 years, especially as they are considered to be at high risk of abusing drugs.
