Sharjah schoolgirl tops Gulf region in Kerala board exam

Dubai: Jesna S.Kumar a science pupil from the New Indian Model School, Sharjah stood first in the entire Gulf among 737 pupils.
She scored 577 marks out of 600 (96.17 per cent) and stood first in the Gulf in the Kerala Board Higher Secondary examinations, the results of which was announced yesterday in Thiruvanathapuram the capital city of South Indian State of Kerala.
A total of 737 pupils appeared for the examination this year of which 640 pupils were from the UAE. There are ten schools in the Gulf region that caters to the Kerala curriculum of which 8 are in the UAE
The results are as follows:
New Indian Model School, Sharjah
Jesna S.Kumar from the science stream secured 577 marks out of 600 and stood first in the Gulf.
Juliya John also from the science batch secured 566 out of 600 marks (94.33 per cent) and stood second in the school.
In the commerce stream Shaheen Hamza secured 5 A+ and 1A scoring 562 marks out of 600 (93.6 per cent).
New Indian Model School, Dubai
Tobin Zachariah Thomas topped the school in Commerce Stream with 550 marks out of 600, (91.67 per cent) with Anjumol K Varkey 534 marks, (89 per cent) in ranking second and Sangeetha Venugopalan P with 533 marks (88.8 per cent) ranking third.
In the Science Stream, Anjali Muraleedharan Nair came first with 563 marks ( 93.83 per cent) by Sujith Kumar A.K.S.with 560 marks (93.33 per cent) and Tasneem Abdul Vahab with 550 marks (91.67 per cent).
Tasneem also got the distinction of getting 100 marks in Chemistry. Bahjath Basheer Aboobaker and Nafiah Abdullah Nadeer scored 100 out of 100 in Hindi making their result noteworthy.
New Indian Model School Al Ain:
All the 43 pupils who appeared from both Science and Commerce passed the examination.
"Since the introduction of absolute grading system in the Higher Secondary, the standard of learning has improved a lot. Kerala Board is the first Board in India to implement grading system very much effectively and highly successfully." said Principal K.Mohammed Ali..
Sithara Ayub, Aravind V. and Jasna Mukthar bagged the first three positions from Science stream while Neethu Retnakaran , Kishore Aravind and Sana Muhammad stood in the first, second and third positions in the commerce strteam.
The Model School, Abu Dhabi
A total of 82 pupils appreared for examination. Najih topped the school securing A+ in all the six papers with 577 marks out of 600. Nimmy Anand stood second with 567 marks and Lijith Win Vijay stood third with 565 marks.
In the Commerce stream Zishan Haris topped the school with 545 marks followed by Jaine Joy Maveli with 539 and Qamaruddin Bin Najmuddin and Mohmmad Adil Chola shared third rank with 532 marks each.
Gulf Model School, Dubai
More than 95 per cent of the pupils from the school scored A+ in majority of the subjects.
Bobin Chandradas and F.Fidiya Nizar bagged A+ in all the six subjects.
Indian School Fujairah
43 pupils appeared for the examination.
40 pupils scored distinctions and 3 pupils scored first class.
Nimitha Shaji of the commerce stream and Jenimol Chacko of the Science stream have secured A+ in all the 6 papers.
In the Commerce Stream, Rachel Cooke who secured 87.1per cent marks came second followed by Monisha Mohan with 85.6 per cent.
In the Science Stream, Sheno Jacob stood second with 90.8 per cent while Bijoy Babu stood third with 89.6 per cent.
