Mohammad meets US education secretary

Abu Dhabi: General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on Sunday received US Secretary of Education Margaret Spellings.
They underlined the role of education in making progress and economic development and the importance of investment in human resources.
Shaikh Mohammad briefed his guest on the government strategy for developing the education sector and improving the performance of educational institutions.
He said the UAE adopts modern curricula and advanced learning technologies to well build UAE nationals to become productive and contribute to the building of their nation.
The US official praised UAE's plans and programme for promoting education and develop the local march of education to meet the needs of this age and keep pace with the latest educational and technological developments.
