Dubai: Starting Monday, the Ministry of Education will visit 58 private schools to evaluate them for academic accreditation.
The ministry said the academic accreditation is in line with the ministry’s strategic plan to create an attractive and safe learning environment for pupils.
Ali Mehad Al Suwaidi, Assistant Undersecretary of the private sector at the Ministry of Education, said the evaluations will measure the quality of education and the schools’ performance based on specific standards to find areas of weakness and areas that need development in schools. This will help the school’s management to make the needed changes to improve their overall performance.
The evaluations will focus on six main factors: school leadership, schools as a community, pupils’ education, class environment, personal development of pupils, and academic performance of pupils.
Schools should expect random visits by the inspectors any time during the evaluation period. The inspectors will visit teachers in class to measure the quality of education the pupils are receiving from teachers.
As part of the evaluations, the ministry said, educators, parents and students will be interviewed by inspectors. Inspectors will also have discussions with principals about the performance of their schools.
