Dubai: A new school following a unique tri-lingual twin-track programme incorporating the best of International Baccalaureate and French curriculums will be opening its doors to students this September, it was announced yesterday.
The International Concept for Education (ICE), located within the Meydan complex in Nad Al Sheba, was officially inaugurated yesterday.
The school will offer education in English according to pedagogic principles set down in IB curriculum and in French following curricula of the Ministry of Education in France.
ICE has a distinctive approach to education incorporating cultural values, etiquette, motivation, art, nutrition and sport, said Rimah Hamoud, founder of ICE and president of AFLEC (Lycee Francais International).
“Each pupil will get the best possible attention. Education will be tailored to meet the needs and capabilities of each pupil to nurture their talents and unleash their creativity. This makes it a unique school,” he said.
Initially, the intake will be for KG, KG1 and KG2 classes. The average class size will be of 18 to 20 pupils in a 100-square-metre classroom.
The premises are currently under construction and the intake of pupils will begin once they get the green signal from the Knowledge and Human Development Authority.
“The first seven years of a child’s life are the foundation for all that will follow. We believe that by working with parents we can deliver a holistic education that embraces multiculturalism, encourages understanding, challenges preconceptions, motivates learning and nurtures talent,” Marcelle Barry, the school’s superintendent said.
Students who complete the unique twin-track programme will emerge ready to meet the challenges of the modern world and take on their full role in the society, added Shoaib Khoury, member of the board of management and board of trustees.
