Dubai: The second phase of the Dh100 million Heriot-Watt University expansion at the Dubai International Academic City Campus is in the final stages of completion.

The latest development features on-campus accommodation along with a variety of other student services such as segregated accommodation blocks that will be available in September, an auditorium seating 700, a food court, café, shop and beauty salon.

Last September the university experienced a 66 per cent increase in international students intake, with that figure expected to rise again this year.

“The higher education sector in the Middle East is a competitive landscape but with the latest expansion it is clear that we’re committed to providing the best for our students,” said Professor Ammar Kaka, head of Heriot-Watt University Dubai campus.
