Dubai: The outlook of e-learning and its role in advancing development programmes and various scientific innovations were points of discussion between Crown Prince of Dubai and an elite group of international academicians.

Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, received yesterday a group of international academicians participating in the launch of the Middle-East E-learning Association (MEEA) of the Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad e-University.

Shaikh Hamdan thanked them for their efforts in establishing the Association and their active participation in the third Annual Forum on e-Learning Excellence in the Middle East held under the theme "Bringing Global Quality to a Local Context''.

Shaikh Hamdan exchanged views with the academicians and scientists on the outlook of e-learning and its role in advancing development programmes and various scientific innovations.

Shaikh Hamdan said e-learning is necessary to deliver the teacher's message to the student through a sound method so as to enable the recipient to understand and apply it on the ground and benefit from the knowledge he receives rationally and practically.

The third Annual Forum on e-Learning Excellence in the Middle East brings together e-Learning professionals and experts from around the world to discuss specific new forms of learning and epistemological issues regarding how learning occurs and how knowledge emerges beyond the borders of traditional systems of education.

Platform

It provides a platform where educators, researchers, practitioners and e-learning providers can open creative spaces where learning, innovation and work can be integrated: innovative pedagogical approaches for teaching, learning, assessment, learners' support and services, faculty and staff development.

It will also address and discuss matters related to social transformation in respect of psychological and cultural issues which may be of relevance to the region.
