Dubai: Dubai Schools Inspection Bureau (DSIB) will put the first inspection summary reports on The Knowledge and Human Development Authority's (KHDA) website www.khda.gov.ae on Thursday, April 2.
The result of the initial batch of school inspections have revealed that out of 69 schools covered, four were found outstanding, 25 were good, 34 acceptable and six were unsatisfactory.
The schools were made up of 24 public schools (30 per cent of Dubai's public schools), and 45 private (31 per cent of the 144 private schools in Dubai).
The report will highlight key information, particularly the strengths of the school and recommendations for improvement, as well as which of the four performance categories – Unsatisfactory, Acceptable, Good and Outstanding - the school falls in.
Jameela Al Muhairi, Chief of the DSIB, said: "We are giving the schools until April 2 to communicate our findings to their parents in whatever way they think is best. After that, the information will go on to our website and will be available to all. We felt that was the fairest way of getting this information to the public.''
The inspection process, which for this batch took place between October-December, 2008, included a one-day preliminary visit to each school, the weeks prior to the inspection.
Inspections included a survey of more than 9,000 parents: questionnaires were given to them during the preliminary visit, and returned one week later.
Also classroom observations were undertaken as part of gathering evidence.
