Al Ain: Etisalat Academy has joined hands with UAE University (UAEU) to create a bespoke Master of Business Administration (MBA) course and other training programmes to Emiratis.

Dr Ali Al Qayedi, acting general manager of Etisalat Academy, and Dr Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, vice-chancellor of UAE University, recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in Al Ain.

The agreement aims at forging cooperation between the two organisations to identify and establish education, training, consultancy and leadership programmes for the benefit of Etisalat employees and the UAE market, said an official of the UAEU.

Dr Al Qayedi said: “It (the partnership) will help develop the capacity of nationals in government organisations and the corporate sector in areas of Business Excellence.” Etisalat Academy, he said, is the largest single-source provider of training and development solutions in the Middle East.

For 30 years it has been providing consultancy and human capital development services to telecoms, government agencies, oil and gas companies, financial institutions and organisations across all industries and business sectors, he said.

Dr Al Nuaimi said the initiative would be a great model for a successful cooperation between vocational training and academia in the country. Such partnerships, he said, are required to support the economic development of UAE, by training and preparing leaders who can drive the country forward in various facets of the economy, industry and society at large.
