Al Ain: The Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) will officially launch the centre of excellence in English language by hosting a conference on reading next week.
The one-day conference, Cultivating Real Readers, will be held at Al Ain Men's College in which internationally recognised keynote speakers will address the participants, said an HCT official.
A number of interactive workshops will also be held during the event that focuses on professionals who teach English reading skills to Emiratis at the HCT and other tertiary institutions.
The official said the HCT policy council had decided last year to establish 10 centres of excellence in different disciplines.
The conference will showcase books from a range of English language teaching publishers.
