Dubai: Risk management studies and academic research in the business sciences in the UAE are expected to get a boost after a Dh10 million endowment by businessman Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor to Zayed University.

The endowment agreement, which will establish the Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor Chair in Business Sciences at the university, was signed yesterday by Shaikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and President of Zayed University, with Al Habtoor.

Collaboration

"[Such] endowments to enhance education demonstrate the importance of collaboration between the private and public sectors to address the challenges of the future and to advance our society," Shaikh Nahyan said.

John Seybolt, Dean of the College of Business Sciences, said the donation would make it possible to attract the best faculty members.
