Abu Dhabi: Zayed University has announced start of admissions for male UAE national students in its Dubai campus, for the academic year 2010 - 2011.

As many as 200 students will be able to secure admission in the Dubai campus.

Classes for male students will start after the female students have commenced their classes and have left the campus for the day.

Dr Sulaiman Al Jasem, Vice-President of Zayed University said: "This initiative is a testimony to the success that Zayed University has achieved in becoming an essential element of the educational landscape of the UAE and the region, by enrolling male UAE national students in its Abu Dhabi campus two years ago, and the admission of the first batch of international students from Kuwait".

Success

The success of both these initiatives, as well as being internationally accredited by The Middle States Commission on Higher Education, has made Zayed University an attractive educational destination for both national and international students.

"The decision to enrol male UAE national students into the University's Dubai campus, following the same academic model as their female and male counterparts in Abu Dhabi campus, is part of Zayed University's continuous mission in responding to the needs of the United Arab Emirates", Al Jasem said.

"A mission that was inspired by the aspirations and lasting vision of the founding president of the United Arab Emirates, Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the person whose name Zayed University is honoured to bear", he said.

Al Jasem added that this initiative integrates the directives of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in providing the UAE's youth with the skills that ensure their success as future leaders.

Additionally, with the continuing encouragement and support of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, Zayed University will continue to utilise international best practices and quality assurance.
