Abu Dhabi Teacher enhancement, trust between different educational stakeholders and adapting best practices were some of the recommendations issued at the closing of the Transforming Education Summit Wednesday.
The two-day event saw more than 200 delegates, including ministers, educational and business leaders, discussing various challenges facing the educational sector as it experiences a shift from traditional methodologies to increasing creative and pupil-centric driven curricula. Various panel discussions and Think Tank sessions were held.
The event was organised by the Abu Dhabi Education Council (Adec) and held under the patronage of General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and President of Adec.
"As part of our efforts we will be establishing groups focusing on several key topics, such as engaging the various educational stakeholders that will meet periodically in addition to establishing a Centre of Excellence, among other goals," said Sebastian Rubens Y. Rojo, division director, strategic planning and special projects at the Office of Planning and Strategic Affairs, Adec.
"This has been a highly successful summit and we have seen several important issues highlighted, and we hope that future editions can build on what was established this year," he added.
