Sharjah: An Asian man died while his wife and son were severely injured when their vehicle swerved from its lane and overturned on Al Dhaid road. The accident happened due to speeding, an official at the Sharjah Police told Gulf News.

The operations room at Sharjah Police received information about the accident on Friday night.

Police said that the initial investigations had revealed that a 32-year-old woman, who is from Comoros Island, lost control over her vehicle due to speeding. As a result, the vehicle swerved and overturned on the road.

Her Pakistani husband who was sitting on the front passenger seat died while she and her five-year-old son sustained injuries.

The police rescue team pulled the injured woman and her son from the vehicle and transferred them to Al Dhaid hospital where their condition was reported to be stable.

According to police, they suffered from multiple bone fractures. The body of the husband was transferred to the hospital morgue to be handed over to his family.
