Abu Dhabi: Three Emirati sisters were killed by a speeding car in Abu Dhabi and their nanny sustained critical injuries.

The incident took place on Monday on the Shaikh Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum road, after the Al Jawiya bridge in Abu Dhabi.

The three girls, aged seven, six, and four, and their Indonesian nanny, 24, were crossing the street in a part not designated for pedestrians when they were hit by a motorist driving recklessly and exceeding the speed limit.

The three girls died on the spot.

Colonel Hamad Adeel Al Shamsi, Abu Dhabi Police director of Traffic and Patrols, called upon families to be careful about their children crossing streets or playing outside without adequate adult supervision.
