Dubai: An Asian worker allegedly killed his workmate and injured two others by stabbing them with a kitchen knife after a financial dispute over Dh500, Brigadier Abdullah Khamis Al Hadidi, Director-General of police operations at RAK Police Headquarters, said.

The fight broke out in the accommodation of a Ras Al Khaimah-based construction company, Brig Al Hadidi said.

He said that the police operation room received a call on Monday at around 9pm about a fight involving a group of Asian workers.

A team from the Criminal Investigation Department was dispatched immediately to the trouble spot where they found a worker had stabbed three colleagues, Brig Al Hadidi said.

"The victims were suffering from intensive bleeding and the accused was standing next to them holding a small knife in his hand," he added.

Brig Al Hadidi said that the injured workers were taken to hospital where one of the workers was pronounced dead upon arrival while the other two were in a serious condition. Brig Al Hadidi said that the victim succumbed to his injuries.

The accused was arrested and referred to the public prosecution.

Denouncing such crimes, Brig Al Hadidi said he cannot imagine how some people find it easy to kill others over financial disputes.
