Dubai: A Bangladeshi worker landed in court for allegedly groping two women while they were jogging.

Prosecutors charged the 25-year-old worker, M.H., with molesting the Chinese women by chasing them while they jogged and touching their private parts.

The suspect was absent when Presiding Judge Al Saeed Mohammad Barghout called on his name in Dubai Court of First Instance to level his charges on Tuesday.

The judge adjourned the case until M.H. is notified legally about his next appearance in court.

According to the chargesheet, prosecutors said the defendant breached the modesty of the Chinese joggers V.Y. and X.S. and molested them.

V.Y., a 23-year-old architect, testified that the suspect molested her and her compatriot around 8pm while they were jogging and ran away.

"He ran away immediately after we yelled at him because he groped our private parts… first he touched my upper private parts and then my lower parts. He then groped X.S. and escaped. We informed a Sri Lankan guard who was in charge of security in the compound where we jogged. The guard, A.H., took us in his car to search for the suspect but we couldn't find him," the architect claimed to prosecutors.

A.H. testified that three days following the first incident he spotted a man [who had the same descriptions of the defendant] walking out of a dark area and chased two Chinese women who were jogging in the same place.

"Immediately I stopped him. Out of suspicion, I called V.Y. and X.S. who identified him as their [alleged] molester… then we called the police," testified A.H.

The trial continues.
