Woman takes control of former husband's house
An Emirati woman yesterday took over the home of her ex-husband and refused to let him enter, claiming she was ready to fight to death to keep this house for herself and her children.
Ras Al Khaimah: An Emirati woman yesterday took over the home of her ex-husband and refused to let him enter, claiming she was ready to fight to death to keep this house for herself and her children.
The man was not in the house when his ex-wife and children sneaked in. She then changed the locks and put the man's clothes and other possessions in the garbage bin.
Access denied
The woman managed to get full control of the house and refused to grant the man entry to the house in which she lived with her children.
The man lodged a complaint with the police against his ex-wife, who was summoned for investigation.
The woman admitted to having taken control of the house as she and her children did not have a place to live and her ex-husband, who is also the father of her children, did not care to provide a house for them.
She told the police that she had no choice but to take control of the house by force and that she would "fight to her last drop of blood" to keep it.
The woman told the police that her ex-husband has never paid the expenses and living costs of his children and she has been taking care of them since their divorce.
She stressed that however that it was time to change the strategy and tactics, adding that no one and no authority will be able to take the house from her.
A senior officer said the police referred the case to the Public Prosecution, which is reviewing it and it will be referred later to court.
The woman told the police that herex-husband has never paid the expenses and cost of living for his children and she has been taking care of them since their divorce.
