Ras Al Khaimah: Law enforcement authorities have recovered the body of a woman bearing numerous stab wounds from near a taxi rank.
The deceased is thought to be a Bangladeshi national. Eyewitnesses said her body was found wrapped in a blanket near the RAK taxi stand.
Sources said a group of taxi drivers made the grisly find after they noticed a woman's head sticking out from underneath a blanket.
The matter was reported to the authorities and police officials soon arrived on the spot and launched an investigation into the case after removing the body.
The sources said the condition of the corpse clearly indicated that the murder had taken place a few days earlier.
The taxi drivers who had discovered the body said that the woman had suffered at least ten stab wounds to different parts of her body, the sources said.
The murder remains a mystery as of now, but the authorities are continuing investigations, the sources added.
