Sharjah: A woman plunged to death from the fifth floor balcony in a building in Sharjah, Police has confirmed.
Police said that an Indonesian housemaid who works for an Egyptian family died on spot after she fell from the balcony on the fifth floor of the duplex apartment of her employer in Al Majaz area in Sharjah. The housemaid was in her late 20s. The watchman of building told Gulf News that the housemaid fell to death at around 10am on Thursday.
“A passerby who saw the housemaid’s body on the road called me saying that someone was dead on the road outside the building,” said the watchman.
“I was able to recognise the housemaid as I know she works in the same building,” he added. He immediately called the police after seeing the body with blood splashed around her on the road.
The police official said that policemen went along with the watchman to the employer’s apartment. They said that the housemaid was sleeping and had no idea what had happened. Police said the housewife was alone at home and her only son was at the school while her husband was at work. Police are investigating to determine whether it was a suicide or she accidently fell from the balcony.
