She accused a man, who turned out to be her husband, of stealing it
Sharjah: A woman has been arrested for filing a false report against a man who she claimed had stolen her car. Police later discovered the accused was the woman's husband.
Police told Gulf News on Tuesday that a woman identified as N. came to them on Sunday night to report that her car was stolen from in front of her house. She accused her Egyptian neighbour identified as W. of the theft.
Police said that the man was arrested by police, but he proved he is her husband, and that they have family problems. He said he did not steal her car.
The Emirati woman, originally from Egypt, was married to an Emirati man and has two children by him. After her divorce from the Emirati man she allegedly secretly married the Egyptian, identified as W.
N., who works for a bank, rushed to police asking for help to find her car, accusing W. of stealing it. W., told police he has been married to N. since 2006, she denies this.
Police investigations revealed the car is not working. The case has been transferred to the prosecutor.
