Sharjah: Police have arrested a Bangladeshi woman suspected of murdering her Pakistani boyfriend, dismembering his body and then hiding the body parts in plastic bags inside a pick-up truck in Industrial Area 1.

The Operations Control Room said they received a call on Saturday reporting that a truck driver discovered two suitcases containing body parts in his truck.

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at Sharjah Police immediately deployed a team of officers and experts from the Criminal Laboratory to investigate the scene of the crime.

During the investigation, it was revealed that the body was that of a Pakistani man, A.A.M, in his 40s. who lived in Al Majaz and had a Bangladeshi girlfriend who lived on Jamal Abdul Nasser Street.

Police arrested the victim's girlfriend in the Al Ghubaiba area and she is alleged to have confessed to murdering her boyfriend A.A.M. During her confession, the woman explained that the murder had been carried out last Friday and that she stabbed the victim in the neck as they sat in her apartment. He died instantly.

She said that she hacked the body into pieces with a machete, wrapped the body parts with a cloth and put the body parts into two suitcases. She then called her male Bangladeshi friend who helped her move the suitcases to Industrial Area 1 where they dumped the suitcases in a pick-up truck.

When the suspect's accomplice was arrested, he denied that he was aware of the bag's contents.The case is still under investigation.
