Sharjah: A suspect wanted for the murder of a man in Sharjah was arrested by police on Monday.

According to police information, four months ago the Indian suspect, R.B.S, allegedly murdered his acquaintance, a Pakistani national M.A, and dumped his body in the desert in the Al Barashi area.

The suspect is a friend of the victim's wife.

The wife, along with one of her friends, had filed a missing person's report for her husband to Sharjah Police.

Investigations led to the discovery of the body in the desert, and police pointed the finger of suspicion at her.

Police then raided her house and found evidence they say implicated her in the murder. They also discovered that the car she drove had been washed recently and the interior vacuumed. Investigations also revealed that she had a relationship with the suspect.

After allegedly committing the crime, R.B.S went into hiding and changed his identity. Police arrested him as he was trying to escape the country. When faced with the allegation, he confessed to being an accomplice in committing the murder, and said it upset him when the victim beat his wife on a regular basis.

Police interrogators say the wife told them she had planned to kill her husband with the help of her Indian friend. She said they carried out the crime after her drunken husband lost consciousness. They both carried the husband to the car and drove him to the desert where he was thrown out and beaten to death.

The case has been referred to Sharjah Public Prosecution.
