Sharjah: The Sharjah Police have busted a gang comprising four Asians who allegedly broke into a warehouse and stole electrical appliances.

The gang has allegedly committed several such thefts from warehouses in Sharjah, according to a press release by Sharjah Police.

The goods stolen included 900 laptops and mobile phones as well as electrical appliances.

The Industrial area police station received information about the robbery and formed a team to arrest the gang. Upon receiving the tip off, police found large numbers of the stolen items during a raid of the suspects’ houses.

During interrogation, the suspects confessed to having broken into the warehouse. The suspects have been referred to the public prosecution for further action

Sharjah Police have urged shopkeepers and owners of the warehouses to improve security measures in order to protect their premises from any theft.

“We continue to urge owners of warehouses and shops to tighten their security and install security cameras to prevent such crimes from taking place. It is also important to install enough lights in the area so that police patrols find it easier to stop any suspicious activities,” the police official added.
