Abu Dhabi: A concerned UAE on Saturday sought clarification from the German government after a suspect in Al Mabhouh killing was released on bail in Germany.
The UAE has been closely following the judicial proceedings against Uri Brodsky, arrested in connection with the fraudulent use of a German passport.
In a statement issued by the UAE Foreign Ministry, the Assistant Minister for Legal Affairs, Dr Abdul Rahim Al Awadi expressed concern that Brodsky had been granted the freedom to return to Israel while the case against him continues.
"The UAE seeks assurances that Brodsky is in no way connected with the murder of Mahmoud Al Mabhouh in Dubai in February this year," he said.
The UAE Foreign Ministry told the German government that it expects full cooperation and will continue to pursue the Brodsky case through diplomatic channels.
