UAE authorities detain maid who allegedly hit employer's baby
The Abu Dhabi Public Prosecution ordered the detention of an Indonesian maid who allegedly confessed to attacking her employer's infant.
Abu Dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Public Prosecution ordered the detention of an Indonesian maid who allegedly confessed to attacking her employer's infant.
The forensics specialist was also ordered to make the necessary medical examinations on the infant to specify the time of the assault and the resulting degree of disability.
The baby's father started suspecting the matter when his child sustained a number of injuries on different parts of his body. When the father asked the maid about the infant's injuries, she would give different excuses.
After installing cameras around the house, the maid was seen allegedly mistreating the baby. She reportedly hit him on the head and other parts of his body.
The father who is an Arab national, brought his complaint to the public prosecutor along with a CD allegedly showing the maid assaulting the infant.
The public prosecutor warned families against leaving their children alone with maids for long periods of time.
He also said the injuries inflicted on the baby were dangerous and could have easily led to a permanent disability.
The Public Prosecution is awaiting the forensics report.
