Abu Dhabi: A driver and a camel jockey were caught by the Abu Dhabi Police on of kidnapping another driver in the Western Region in a bid to coerce him into repaying an overdue loan, a statement by the Abu Dhabi Police said.

Suspects allegedly threatened to kill victim over Dh1,395
According to their police testimony, the Bengali couple M.A. 28, and A.A.,24, forced the victim, M.H., 27, into getting in their pick-up, tied him up with ropes, hit him and held him captive in a farm where they threatened to kill him if he did not pay the Dh 1,395 which he owed them.
Colonel Ajil Ali Abdullah Al Junaibi, Director of the Western Region Police Directorate in Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters said that one of M.H’s relatives reported the kidnapping which allegedly occurred in the Western Region’s Madinat Zayed industrial zone.
The relative described the two men’s appearance and the car which they were reportedly using.
According to Al Junaibi, a police team investigated the matter and set up a plan to trick the alleged abductors into being caught.
This was one by a team member who called one of M.A. and A.A’s telephone numbers pretending to be M.H.’s friend who specified a location to meet with and return the owed money to the two men, leading to their arrest.
Al Junaibi stated that these kind of crimes is rare and members of the public are urged to cooperate with the police to report any criminals or outlaw so they can be caught and prosecuted.
