Dubai A teacher faces three years in jail after a court convicted him Sunday of molesting a 12-year-old Emirati schoolgirl at her family home.
The Dubai Court of First Instance Sunday convicted private tutor, 45-year-old Egyptian, A.E., of sexually molesting the schoolgirl after her mother, a policewoman, caught him groping her daughter.
Prosecutors charged the accused with sexually molesting the Emirati schoolgirl in a tent in the garden of the family's house while he was teaching her and her brother.
The accused defended himself in court, pleading not guilty. "No! It absolutely did not happen. I am not guilty," said A.E.
Presiding Judge Fahmi Mounir, who pronounced yesterday's judgment, said he'll be deported after the completion of his punishment. The Emirati mother testified that she saw the teacher put his hand inside her daughter's undergarment when she went to check on her children.
"After I returned from work I was surprised when I saw the defendant's left hand in my daughter's underwear," testified the mother.
"My daughter was trying to pull down her dress while her brother was busy doing his homework at the other side of the tent."
