Dubai: A gang of three African women have been arrested for possessing and selling marijuana.

Dubai Police's Anti-Narcotics Department received information that an African woman, identified as D.B.A., took marijuana and possessed it for peddling.

Based on the information, the woman was put under monitoring and the Criminal Investigation Department set up a plan to arrest her by sending an undercover source to buy marijuana from her.

At the appointed time, another woman, identified as N., came to the spot on behalf of the first suspect and sold 10 wrapped packs of marijuana, which weighed 51 grams, to the source.

She was arrested during the operation and her residence was searched in Naif where a third suspect, identified as M.M., was arrested.

Probe

Police found 1,586 grams of marijuana and another 0.21 grams with the two suspects. N. confessed that the marijuana she possessed belonged to D.B.A., who stayed in Al Hamriya. The three suspects were referred to the Public Prosecution for further investigation.
