Sharjah: A woman was raped in a deserted house after being kidnapped by three men who pretended to be policemen, an official at Sharjah Police said on Monday.

Men posed as policemen, Sharjah Police official says
Sharjah Police’s Criminal Investigation Department have arrested three men, who were not carrying identification papers, on charges of impersonating policemen, kidnapping a woman from a house in Sharjah and raping her.
The Sharjah police operations room received a call from a man saying that three men posing as police entered his house and kidnapped an Ethiopian woman in her twenties.
A security team from CID was formed to track down the suspects.
Police sources led to the arrest of the first suspect identified as S.A.J. He initially denied the charges but then confessed to them after being confronted with the victim.
The first suspect led police to the arrest of his partners, A.H.Y, 40 years old and W.H.Y., 26 years old.
According to police, the suspects confessed to the crime and told police that they took the victim to a deserted house, where they committed the crime.
The three suspects have been referred to the Public Prosecution. Police have appealed to all residents, especially women, to always ask for officers’ IDs and warrants.
