Six suspects get bail in security trial
Six suspects, five Emiratis and an Afghan, facing security-related charges filed by the State Security Public Prosecution, were granted bail by the Federal Supreme Court on Monday.
Abu Dhabi: Six suspects, five Emiratis and an Afghan, facing security-related charges filed by the State Security Public Prosecution, were granted bail by the Federal Supreme Court on Monday.
Two other Emiratis were earlier released on bail.
A hearing was held in camera at the Federal Supreme Court, presided over by Chief Justice Khalifa Al Muhairi yesterday.
A police officer and another witness testified before Justice Al Muhairi who ordered the closed hearing in his office, advocate Ali Ahmad Al Mannae'i, defending three of the suspects, told Gulf News after the hearing.
The prosecution accused the defendants of committing crimes related to state security. The suspects earlier pleaded not guilty and refuted the charges based on the argument that the evidence brought against them was uncorroborated.
The hearing was adjourned until November 9.
