Sharjah: Police have arrested seven Bangladeshi men who pirated child pornography CDs and intended to distribute them in the industrial areas of Sharjah and Ajman. 

An official at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at Sharjah Police said that when the gang was arrested, they were in the possession of 7,057 pornographic CDs. 

One of the suspects, identified by police as S.H. Ladeer, 30, hid a number of devices to pirate the films, which was hidden in his apartment on the first floor of a residential building in Sharjah's Industrial Area 10. 

The CID official said that three of the suspects had entered the country illegally. 

During the interrogation, the suspects confessed that they copied the films, packaged it and were intending to sell it to people living in various industrial areas. 

Colonel Mohammad Rashid Bin Bayat, Director of CID, explained that they have launched a campaign to tackle the issues of counterfeit goods, bootlegging and distribution of narcotics in the emirate, and that police are also targeting residents who purchase such illegal goods.
