DUBAI: A man serving 15 years in prison for raping a boy in 2007 has got five more years for raping a fellow prisoner, who himself has been charged with raping a schoolgirl.

The sentence in the bizarre case was handed down by the Dubai Criminal Court of First Instance on Wednesday, ironically, by the same judge - Fahmi Mounir Fahmi - who had sentenced A.K. for raping the French boy.

Last October, Emirati defendant A.K., 42, had denied raping the Pakistani inmate in the Dubai Central Jail washroom at knifepoint.

According to prosecutors, A.K. held a knife to M.R.'s neck one night, burned his hand with a cigarette and forced him into the washroom where he raped him.

A.K. threatened to get other cellmates to rape M.R. if he did not agree to have sex with him. He also said he would kill M.R. if he reported the incident to police, prosecutors said.

M.R.'s cellmates told prosecutors how he had cried all night when he recounted the incident to them.

Medical records show A.K. suffers from Aids and Hepatitis C.

He was serving a 15-year jail term after a court found him guilty of raping a 15-year-old French boy in a deserted area of Al Barsha. The sentence was upheld by the Cassation Court in 2008.

His latest victim M.R., 21, is being tried for raping an 8-year-old Bangladeshi schoolgirl after kidnapping her from an Islamic teaching centre. He has pleaded not guilty, saying his confession had been taken under duress.

Chief Prosecutor Sami Al Shamsi, the head of Bur Dubai Prosecution has sought the death penalty for A.K.
