Abu Dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Police online service Aman (safety) has urged residents to refrain from using firecrackers to celebrate Eid Al Fitr due to the hazards they pose to life and property.
Aman called on parents to prevent their children from playing with firecrackers.
Major Mattar Al Muhairi, director of the information and monitoring centre at Abu Dhabi Police, said: “Offering its services in Arabic, English and Urdu, Aman works around the clock and can be reached on a toll-free number or through SMS.”
“Anyone can report both security and traffic issues,” he said.
The identity of those using the online service will remain completely anonymous. Information and/or complaints coursed through Aman will be referred to the concerned law enforcement units for action.
People can also call Aman for questions and concerns. The service also accepts feedback and suggestions on how to improve their services, Al Muhairi explained.
