Dubai: A woman has divorced her husband after she discovered him watching porn.

The Emirati woman sought a divorce when she caught her husband in the act, watching pornographic movies saved on his laptop.

The woman, who is a doctor by profession, opened the laptop and browsed through it before she realised several movies and pictures of a sexual nature were saved in different files.

Sources close to the case told Gulf News the woman asked her husband not to sleep with her from their first night together when she found out he had syphilis.

The woman is believed to have asked her husband to get medical treatment before they could sleep together.

When she discovered he was pleasing himself watching indecent movies, she lodged a divorce claim before the Primary Sharia Court in Dubai.

The court granted her a divorce and dismissed the husband’s claim for Dh700,000 which he alleged paid as expenses for their wedding party.

The couple appealed the primary verdict before the appellate court that is expected to issue its verdict soon.
